Achieving seamless tracking and interaction in an expansive display environment presents unique challenges, wherein conventional mouse and keyboard input devices may prove inadequate. Enter RokokoSmart Gloves—a revolutionary solution. Our pioneering virtually interactive space game brilliantly showcases these gloves’ prowess, utilizing them as intuitive inputs for seamless control. Unity 3D, Rokoko Smart gloves and Rokoko studio to utilise the motion capture and live-streaming capabilities, Blender to create objects/assets within the game and a large format display in the form of a high-resolution projector and screen. Final Cut Pro for editing Blender-exported backgrounds and additional features. Galactic Guardians offers a uniquely crafted gaming experience with custom assets including rockets, spaceships, gloves, asteroids, and planets. The game features three levels, escalating object speed and rate of spawning objects, a local high score database, and seamless transitions. Compatible with gloves or mouse inputs. Ensures an addictive and immersive experience on large displays, with custom-rigged humanoidcharacter motion capture. The project achieved success, meeting the client’s satisfaction. Optimal gameplay occurs on Windows, owing to macOS compatibility issues while live-streaming. Users find the large-format display experience highly satisfying with the gloves. Calibration of gloves through Rokoko Studio precedes Unity live-streaming for precise movement detection. A standalone version is pending due to ongoing live-streaming concerns. This project marked our first step into game development, providing a valuable learning experience.
