Project Description:
People die from hunger. We want to help people see that lots of people around the world go hungry and are not as lucky as us. That hunger is not a joke. We chose to use Scratch to create an animation.
Method and Technology:
First we chose the UN Sustainable Goal ‘Zero Hunger’. We read about people going hungry and that it is going to get worse.
Second, we chose to use Scratch to create an animation because it is easier for us to design and show people.
Third, we chose backgrounds that made us think about people who are sad and hungry. Then we chose an Earth sprite to show lots of people in the world don’t have food. Rafael chose a bowl of cheese puffs because he likes eating them.
Finally, we chose to use to use speech bubbles and sounds to make it more fun.
What did we learn?
We learnt about Scratch and how to use block codes to create an animation.
Sometimes it was hard to find the right block to use. We had to test blocks when we linked them to make sure the code was working. We tried to use the turn block to make the Earth spin but had to try a few times before we got it right.
Conclusion
Scratch is a good way for us to make coding exciting. We learnt about block coding and had fun. We found a way to teach people about world hunger.
