EcoHomes was a 3D-created project, made in blender that aimed to contribute to one of the possible solutions to the 13 SDGS, Climate Action. Through an innovative design, renewable energy integration and incorporation of sustainable energy sources, Ecohomes hopes to encourage people to turn to a more eco and sustainable way of living and help slow down climate change. This project was fully created on the 3d application Blender and is a house that was fully developed to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. Many aspects of the house’s design had at least one reason attached to it. Initially, I researched house structures and eco-friendly designs that I could add to my design while researching systems to reduce carbon footprint and studying what affects climate change. Afterwards, I came up with several prototype designs, built up a basic 3d model of them, picked one that I liked best and finalised all the details while also occasionally making a few changes to make room for more innovative ideas. In the end, I was able to successfully learn about a number of new eco-friendly systems, how small features of the house can make a big impact, more about climate change and how we can fight against it and finally how to optimally use the software Blender more effectively. I greatly benefited from this project as it taught me how to effectively manage my time, plan ahead, and research’s importance.
